Geological Society of Australia Field Course, New Caledonia (2015)
Sole undergraduate participant on a week-long course with the Geological Society of Australia's Specialist Group in Tectonics and Structural Geology, exploring the complex tectonics and ophiolitic sequences preserved on the Pacific island of New Caledonia. Fresh baguettes and puzzled looks abound.
Tectonics of Scotland (2014)
Ten-day touring trip led by Dr. John Dewey and Dr. Ian Dalziel following the western coast of Scotland, observing historically-significant geologic sites and receiving an introduction to the tectonic history of the area.
Microstructures and Rock Rheology, Whipple Mtns, CA (2016)
Four-day investigation into a spectacularly preserved metamorphic core complex in the Southern California desert. Analysis of associated pseudotachylites and an exposed sequence of progressive mylotinization. Led by Dr. Whitney Behr, Jackson School of Geosciences.
Franciscan Subduction Zone, CA (2016)
Week-long field trip observing Franciscan subducted assemblages and more recent San Andreas Fault-associated deformation. Led by Dr. Mark Cloos and Dr. Jaime Barnes.
Neotectonics, Coachella Valley, CA (2015)
Four-day instructive trip on the San Andreas Fault mapping displaced Holocene alluvial fans and investigating localized transpressive deformation. Led by Dr. Whitney Behr, Jackson School of Geosciences.
